Ebony J. McDonald VS Brunswick Hospital Center
81 Louden Avenue, Amityville, New York 11701
"Eat or take the medication!"
Over and over the nurse at Brunswick Hospital Center yelled at me, "Eat or take the medication!" as I responded, "No, I'm fasting." Each time she became more and more angry yelling, "Eat or take the medication," and I continuously told her no, explaining that I was fasting. After realizing that her yelling was not going to make me comply, she called multiple Brunswick staff members to the area. I explained to staff that I am not a problem in the housing unit, and I am simply fasting. Staff then forcibly grabbed me and carried me to a room where they forcibly held me down, and utilized two needles in my butt cheek. I walked out the room and sat on the hallway floor. I concluded one of the needles put me to sleep, after I woke up hours later.
I went from giving out toothbrushes, as a correction officer, to asking for my toothbrush. Despite it all, I remained respectful to all staff and patients. I spent majority of my time reading the Bible and praying. Unfortunately, there was a malicious agenda created against me, and staff proceeded to carry out their plan. I continued to refuse the medication and staff falsely documented me as having a mental illness. I was served court documents on behalf of Brunswick Hospital Center, requesting an Order which authorizes the doctors to forcibly medicate me everyday. I in return contacted a lawyer to fight for my release. On October 31, 2025, the Honorable Judge did not find me to have a mental illness and ordered my immediate release.
